The Ascension Need a Manager to Do Their Talking for Them

The Ascension finally made their debut on the main roster a few weeks ago but haven't quite taken off with fans the way they did at NXT.

Within their first week, they insulted some veterans in the business by saying that teams like The Road Warriors and Demolition couldn't carry their bags.

While the line was probably fed to them and they likely won't see any backlash from it, the few promos they have delivered prove one thing: The Ascension need a manager to speak for them.

Their skill as a tag team was on full display in NXT for the whole of 2014, but they were never big talkers. To make it on the main roster, you have to be able to deliver a believable promo. The over-the-top yelling got a lot of wrestlers over in the '80s and '90s, but it's not that simple anymore. They have to deliver more than just an intimidating presence.

Pairing Konnor and Viktor with a manager who can do all their talking for them would really do wonders for this young duo.

Hawk and Road Warrior Animal were a great act, but they were a lot better with Paul Ellering by their side. Jimmy Hart made The Hart Foundation watchable, and numerous other teams have benefited from having a mouthpiece.

Countless wrestlers have gotten ahead by having the right person run the promos, and some of them even went on to become world champions when they wouldn't have been able to do it by themselves.

The one thing that would almost certainly never happenbut would be such a good ideawould be to bring in Paul Ellering to manage to team, even for a short time.

Not only would having the man who guided Hawk and Animal in their corner help bury the hatchet with some of the people who were offended by The Ascension's recent comments, but it would bridge the gap between the tag teams of the past and the future.

Ellering looked great at The Road Warrior's Hall of Fame induction, but there's no telling if he would even be interested in going back on the road, even for a short time.

Another option would be to bring in Animal as a manager. He has the credibility and experience to help Konnor and Viktor get to that next level.

If Paul Heyman sticks around WWE for another year, perhaps he would be a good choice to lead the young team for a time.

Apart from Brock Lesnar, Heymanhasn't had much success managing Superstars since returning to WWE. Curtis Axel, Ryback and Cesaro all had disappointing runs with Heyman by their side, and CM Punk was already a top star before aligning with him.

Managing The Ascension and turning them into stars could help solidify Heyman as the greatest manager of all time and prove that he can do more than make established stars look good.

There's also the valet option. Pairing these two big bruisers with a beautiful woman who can handle a promo could be exactly what they need.

Whether it be a man or a woman, Konnor and Viktor need someone to carry the verbal load while they handle the action inside the ring.

What do you think? Do The Ascension need a manager? Who would be ideal for the role?
