Does Dolph Ziggler have a future in the WWE?

It's a testament to how over Dolph Ziggler is that he is still coming out to one of the biggest pops of the night.

But, despite the constant crowd support, the wrestler just can't seem to catch a break at the moment. So does the 'Show off' still have a future in the WWE?

From a wrestling point of view there's no reason why he shouldn't. He's easily one of the most athletic guys in the industry, he has a great physique, and he always seems to put on a good match.

People love working with him as he can make them look a million bucks in the ring, he sells offence better than nearly everyone on the roster (Seth Rollins takes that title though), and his own offence is crisp - especially the rolling elbows which always get a pop.

He can talk on the microphone if given the chance, he features heavily in the WWE YouTube videos, and comes across as a genuinely funny guy.

But there's something that's going wrong.

Cannon Fodder

Ziggler is no more than cannon fodder in the current landscape, and that's the harsh reality of the situation, he may flirt with winning a mid-card title but he will never be given the time to hold one.

If he will struggle to hold a mid-card title, than we can rule any possibility of him winning the big one, he just loses too much to be considered a serious threat.

It's a shame as it was only last year he cashed in "Money in the Bank", the night after WrestleMania 29, the popped he received made it seem like a breakout moment. People wanted him to have a long title reign.

Injury woes

But he was given a concussion by a former tag partner of his, Jack Swagger, and soon dropped the title to Alberto Del Rio.

Unfortunately, his history of concussions is what casts his future in doubt, he has two in the past 12 months - the WWE will never trust him.

As cruel as it seems, there is no value in damaged goods, and with Ziggler bumping harder than most it is just a matter of time before it happens again.

Outspoken

Ziggler has let this massive de-push get to him, and that in itself is another reason why his future could be seen as murky. He just doesn't seem to have a filter between his brain and his mouth.

Whilst being outspoken and honest is not a bad thing, within the WWE any wrester should be cautions of making comments in public, Vince McMahon and Triple H don't take kindly to being criticised in public - just look how they have buried CM Punk since he left.

Yet Ziggler will speak his mind in interviews and on Twitter, questioning why he isn't more in the spotlight despite the big crowd reactions, it just isn't helping and will get him into trouble somewhere down the line.

Now or never

Okay, you can make the argument he is still young and his chance will come round again, but at 33 that chance had better come round again soon. 

Don't get me wrong, I am a massive fan of Dolph Ziggler, he cares about the business and he is amazing at what he does - I want to see him in the main-event scene.

However, his future grows less and less certain with every episode of RAW he jobs on, or every PPV he is left off the card.

He is starting a career in stand up comedy, and you can certainly see him mixing it up on the big screen, it wouldn't be the worst career choice if he was to trade his lot.
