Rumor Roundup (Jan. 2, 2015): Sting WWE plans, Sheamus heel turn, Naomi, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • There have been some rumors floating around that Sting could appear on Raw next week. If he does, one would assume that's the "major angle" that has been rumored. Raw next week will be the first with The Authority back running the show.
  • When Sheamus returns, there's been some talk that he could do so as a heel.
  • Speaking of turns, WWE may have been planning on having Naomi turn heel on her husband during the storyline with The Miz but that appears to have been dropped.
  • The Observer reported recently that WWE has now "put in all peformer contracts that if they are fired for disciplinary reasons, they forfeit all merchandise rights and can't work in either pro wrestling or MMA for one year." This is in response to the company's issues with both Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk. Good luck enforcing that.
  • Multiple sites are reporting that Uhaa Nation has finally signed with WWE. He should be down in NXT soon enough.
