WWE Royal Rumble Updates For Daniel Bryan, RVD And Sting

This month, WWE is gearing up towards its annual Royal Rumble. And, with that comes speculation on who will be making an appearance.

For those wondering, Wrestling Observer is reporting that Sting is not expected to be a surprise entrant in the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble match. At last word, Sting was still scheduled to face Triple H at WrestleMania 31. We should know soon if those plans have changed or not.

After months of uncertainty, top WWE officials were informed about three weeks ago that Daniel Bryan would be able to return. The decision was made then to have him return at the 2015 Royal Rumble.

With Bryan being in the Rumble match, there has been a lot of speculation already about whether or not this changes plans for Roman Reigns. Apparently this hasn’t been considered within WWE yet.

As of this week, Reigns was still scheduled to win the Rumble and then win the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 31.

Rob Van Dam claimed in a recent TweetSecret video that he currently has no plans for a 2015 Royal Rumble appearance but to “never say never” with WWE.

Chris Jericho has been announced for the upcoming WWE live event at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY on Sunday, March 1st. Tickets go on sale on January 10th at 10 a.m. at the FNC box office or at Tickets.com. Jericho is slated to head back on the road to tour with Fozzy in Europe from March 4th until March 19th.

As noted earlier, Jericho recently stated that while he will be working WWE live events, he will not be working TV tapings or pay-per-views. This could always be a red herring so that it’s somewhat of a surprise if Jericho appears at The Royal Rumble.

On a related note, WWE had been planning on bringing back The Authority for some time and the decision to bring them back so soon on this week’s RAW was not a reaction to the ratings.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Randy Orton is currently dealing with a deviated septum, which will require minor surgery.

The injury is why Orton was removed from the Long Island holiday house show main event, and why he has been wrestling very short matches since then. The surgery is said to be minor, and word is Orton will only be missing a few weeks of action.

There has talk within WWE that some of the WrestleMania 31 main events may have been switched around in the last week or so. Apparently there were creative changes suggested for some of the top matches also.

WWE’s website has a new poll asking fans how many Superstars will Roman Reigns eliminate in this year’s Royal Rumble match. With over 6,000 votes, 57% have voted, “He’ll break his own record with 13 or more.” 20% voted for between 6 and 11, 9% voted for 1, 7% voted for between 2 and 5 and 6% voted for tying his own record with 12.
